Tyler Binney

Tyler Binney

President and Chief Executive Officer

Tyler Binney joined Relievant as President and CEO in April 2021.  Prior to joining Relievant, Tyler served as President & General Manager of Interventional Urology at Teleflex and as Vice President of Sales for NeoTract, Inc. (acquired by Teleflex in 2017). Prior to his tenure at NeoTract, Tyler served in multiple leadership roles in sales & marketing within two business units at Johnson & Johnson (Acclarent and Cordis). Tyler has a proven track record for success establishing new markets and standards of care for disruptive technology with a passion for commercial strategy and execution. With over 20 years of experience in the medical device industry, Tyler has been an instrumental leader in developing high-growth companies and talented teams with best-in-class company cultures throughout his career. Tyler holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Presbyterian College.

Chris Geyen

Chris Geyen

Chief Financial Officer

Chris joined Relievant in February 2018 and serves as Chief Financial Officer. Chris brings extensive experience from successful public and private life science companies and significant fundraising and M&A experience. Before joining Relievant, he served as Chief Financial Officer of NeuWave Medical. After NeuWave’s acquisition by Johnson & Johnson in 2016, he continued with J&J as a leader of the interventional oncology platform. Prior to NeuWave, Mr. Geyen served as CFO of Celleration where he guided the business through the process of securing reimbursement and acquisition by Alliqua BioMedical. He also served as CFO of Restore Medical (acquired by Medtronic), Acorn Cardiovascular, and Urologix. Chris began his career with the public accounting firm EY.

Mr. Geyen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (inactive). Chris serves as an independent board member at Preceptis Medical.

Ray Baker

Ray Baker, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Baker joined Relievant in July 2017 and serves as Chief Medical Officer. Prior to joining Relievant, Dr. Baker was VP and Executive Medical Director of EvergreenHealth Medical Group, EvergreenHealth, Kirkland, Washington. During his 15 years at EvergreenHealth, Dr. Baker held positions on the board of the Evergreen Surgical Center, Chaired the EvergreenHealth Medical Group Leadership Council and was Medical Director of their Spine and Musculoskeletal Programs. Prior to being employed by EvergreenHealth, he was in private and academic practices. He served as Clinical Professor and Director of Interventional Pain Management at the University of Washington. He regularly lectures internationally, and has published a number of peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and editorials. He continues to serve on numerous boards and committees and has advised CMS, the FDA and CDC on matters related to pain management. Dr. Baker previously Chaired the Multi-Society Pain Workgroup for CMS and is Past President of both the North American Spine Society and the International Pain & Spine Intervention Society (formerly the Spine Intervention Society). In 2023, Dr. Baker received the Charles N. Aprill Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Pain & Spine Intervention Society in recognition of his remarkable contributions to the field of interventional pain.

Steve Augustine

Steve Augustine

Vice President, Human Resources

Steve joined Relievant in June of 2021 and serves as Vice President of Human Resources. Prior to joining Steve founded and lead a consulting practice that guided medical device organizations through strategic transformations in organizational direction, culture, and leadership capabilities. Before consulting, Steve spent 20 years in various HR leadership roles at Coloplast, ev3, and Boston Scientific. His last role was Vice President, Human Resources for Coloplast. He has a proven track record of driving high levels of performance and engagement through clarity and alignment of business strategy, building cultures where people thrive, maximizing leadership impact at all levels, and ensuring human resource systems and processes create value to the business.

Steve received his MBA from the University of St Thomas and his BA from Indiana University. Steve is an acting Board member of the Nicholas Noyes Foundation that supports charitable organizations and educational institutions.

Brian Donovan

Brian Donovan

Vice President, Product Development and Operations

Brian joined Relievant in July 2012 and serves as Vice President, Product Development and Operations. Prior to joining Relievant, Brian was the Site Lead for the Interventional Spine business unit within Medtronic’s Restorative Therapies Group. Prior to this role, Brian was Senior Director of Product Development at Kyphon, where he led product development initiatives for minimally invasive spine and orthopedic trauma procedures. 

Brian received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

Chris Gleason

Chris Gleason

Vice President, Sales

Chris Gleason joined Relievant as the Vice President of Sales in October 2021.  Prior to joining Relievant, Chris served as the Vice President of Sales of Interventional Urology at Teleflex.  He also served in other sales leadership roles at Neotract prior to its acquisition by Teleflex in 2017.  Previously, Chris served in sales leadership roles at Xenex Healthcare, Acclarent at Johnson and Johnson, and Intuitive Surgical.  In these roles Chris led teams through exponential growth via revolutionary shifts in patient care.

Mr. Gleason holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.  He also holds a Master of Business Administration from The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.

Mary Hailey

Mary Hailey

Vice President, Health Economics and Reimbursement

Mary joined Relievant in February 2017 and serves as Vice President, Health Economics and Reimbursement. Prior to joining Relievant, Mary was with Penumbra as the Global Vice President of Reimbursement. Prior to Penumbra, Mary served as the Vice President of Health Policy and Government Relations for Neuronetics, a medical device company focused on developing non-invasive therapies for psychiatric and neurological disorders using MRI-strength magnetic field pulses. Prior to joining Neuronetics, Mary served as the Vice President of Healthcare Policy and Government Relations for Monterey Advisors, a strategic medical technology and management consulting firm. Working closely with institutional investors, Monterey Advisors conducted due diligence activities across a broad spectrum of operational responsibilities to evaluate various private equity medical technology investment opportunities. Prior to Monterey Advisors, Mary was at Medtronic where she was the Vice President of Health Care Policy and Government Relations for the Kyphon business unit. Before her work in the medical device industry, Mary was an owner of a consulting firm, Hailey and Heinrich, Inc.

Mary received a BS from the University of Wisconsin, Stout and is a certified case manager and certified disability management specialist.

Bryan Holmes

Vice President, Marketing and Strategy

Bryan Holmes joined Relievant in April 2023 as Vice President of Marketing and Strategy. Bryan most recently served as Global Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Teleflex Interventional Urology and as Vice President of Marketing at NeoTract, Inc. (acquired by TFX). Prior to that, Bryan worked for Sonova Group, the world’s leading hearing solution medical device company, as Managing Director of Phonak-Lyric, a Sonova operating company. Bryan held multiple marketing leadership roles in consumer healthcare and medical device and diagnostics sectors for Johnson & Johnson, including as Senior Director of Brand Marketing for their Diabetes franchise and Worldwide Group Product Director for the Oral Care category. Bryan also held management roles at Pfizer and Warner Lambert. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from New England College.

Tom Slater

Tom Slater

Vice President, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs

Tom joined Relievant in October, 2012 and currently serves as Vice President, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs. Prior to joining Relievant, Tom was Director of R&D for the Interventional Spine business unit within Medtronic’s Restorative Therapies Group. Prior to this role, Tom led the development of biomaterial-based products for Kyphon. Tom has held several Quality and R&D positions within the medical device industry since 1987.

Tom received a BS in Chemical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, an MS in Bioengineering from Clemson University, and a Certificate in Management from Kellogg School of Business, Northwestern University.
